Leora
A note from Leora’s granddaughter: Leora loves to travel, dance, cook, spend time with family, attend church, & take cruises. She is 89 years old and extremely functional, driving daily and assisting in care of her 3rd child. She lost her youngest daughter at the age of 40 but displayed tremendous strength supporting her family and grandchildren. Simply a light to everyone that knows her and will feed an entire community on any given Sunday and has through many generations. She is a pillar for her family and simply deserves to get a fraction of the love and care she continues to pour into the world directly from the numerous lives she has touched.

Marge
A note from Marge’s daughter: Marge was born in Chicago, Illinois, but has lived in a southwest suburb of Chicago for 30+ years. She is a retired teacher who taught mostly third and fourth grades in the Chicago Public Schools. She loves taking walks especially at our local nature preserve but she fell in June and broke her arm so she has had a rough end of the year. She loves her 13 year old grandson more than anything, and loves watching movies especially at the movie theater. She also enjoys game shows (People Puzzler, 25 Words or Less and Wheel of Fortune). She could use some letters of love to help lift her spirits!

Jane
A note from Jane’s daughter: Jane turned 93 this summer and still lives in her home alone. She uses a cane in public, but a walker at home. Despite her walking challenges and health issues, she refuses to accept she isn’t as young as she once was. She can be found pulling weeds in her yard, cleaning her carpet, cooking, and other tasks she shouldn’t be doing. She has outlived most of her friends and could use some special love. All her life she has been the person who sends cards/notes to others when they are sick or just because, to send them some cheer. Please send her the love she deserves in the same way she has always done for others!

Al
A note from Al’s friend: Al is a very spicy young at heart man. He is an AirForce Vet and Ex Police Officer. He enjoys old movies, like westerns, black and whites and musicals. He loves to laugh, and joke and loves to talk about the olden golden days 1930s 40s 50s. He spends most of his day at home because, unfortunately, he is 95, his eyesight and hearing is weakening along with his legs and knees and it brings an onset of depression. Please send some letters of love to do some cheering up.

Anne
A note from Anne’s daughter: Anne is 96 and currently resides in an assisted living facility in upstate NY. She loves Finnish history or history factual of any kind. She is a history buff, used to knit and crochet. Anne was a teacher and she's traveled quite a bit. Church was always a constant in her life. She doesn't get visitors often, due to geographic locations and she feels like friends have forgotten about her. She is lonely and has a hard time finding purpose in life. She is in need of something to look forward to. Letters of love would do the trick!

Don
A note from Don’s daughter-in-law: The past few years have been filled with change for Don. His wife Mary died in 2023, soon after they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. He recently moved into a senior living facility, out of the house that he, a carpenter, built himself. A veteran of the Marine Corps, Don’s a father of 3 with a loving crew of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many of whom are spread across the country. As Don does his best to roll with life’s punches and adjust to his new home, we want to show him that he remains surrounded by love! He’s no longer able to pursue some of his favorite hobbies, but he continues to follow baseball (Go, White Sox!), enjoys a good novel (mystery and suspense), and has a huge heart for dogs (particularly rescued Lab mixes). Please send letters of love to show him how much he is loved!

Frances
A note from Frances’s granddaughter: Frances was born and raised in Dillywyn, Virginia, before moving to Richmond. She is the youngest of six siblings, although four of them have passed. She was married to the love of her life, Jerry, for nearly 50 years before his passing in 2018. Since then, she has lived alone with her beagle, Ella, and kitten, Elvis. She enjoys spending time with family. She can often be found working in the yard and tending to her garden. She is the most devoted mother and grandmother. She loves restocking the community food pantry, buying gifts for the neighborhood children, working on puzzles, completing word searches, and she is particularly fond of Randy Travis and Jelly Roll. Every time she receives a card, drawing, or similar item, she always displays it on her fireplace mantel or tapes it to the fridge. She would love to hear from people around the country and receive the love she deserves!

Kathy
A note from Kathy’s granddaughter: Kathy was born and raised in the state of NY. She enjoys spending time in the community and is always willing to help. She unfortunately lost my grandpa in 2013 and has lived alone ever since. She also lost one of her closest friends and her daughter to cancer. I visit as often as I can, but I know she still gets lonely. She is the type of person that always thinks of others but doesn’t get the same in return. She just recently lost her beloved springer spaniel Bindi and it's been a difficult time for her. She enjoys sitting at my Aunt's memorial bench, watching 90 day fiancé, and occasionally putting Baileys in her coffee. Please send her some extra love to start off the year!

Clarence
A note from Clarence’s daughter: Clarence is a military vet who gave up his education to stay on the family farm to help out with the animals and to take care of his family, who have all since passed. He has managed to keep the farm in the family‘s name for over 111 years! He is the nicest, most gentle, funny, warm person you’d ever want to know. He is now wheelchair bound, and is sad to be unable to walk. He still has his humor through everything. He is from West Point, Nebraska, born and raised. He’s not a big social bug because all he ever did was farm that’s all he knows. Receiving letters would be a really wonderful thing to remind him that people still care about him!

Norma
A note from Norma’s friend: Norma was an art teacher for middle school in Fort Worth, Texas, where she still resides. She loves painting with watercolors, but she isn’t able to do tasks like these anymore. She isn’t able to get out of bed alone anymore so she’s stuck inside one room without human interaction most of the day. I think she deserves to be reminded of how valuable she is with lots of letters of love from around the world!

Charlene
A note from Charlene’s daughter: Charlene just celebrated her 100th Birthday in December! She lived pretty much her entire life in the small town of Cuba, Missouri. She still misses her home but due to her age (friends passing away) and moving away from her hometown she has very little outside contact. Fortunately she has a friend who is 102 that she has contact with almost daily. She has little interest in things due to her failing eyesight but does play solitaire on her computer and scrolls through Facebook. Please send her some 100th birthday love and help her start this year off great!

Chita
A note from Chita’s daughter: Chita is 84 years young, a retired registered nurse, who lives in California and loves gardening and cooking for others. She is in her garden everyday and it's what keeps her active and happy. She is a widow (married 50 years) and her children live out of state and visit as often as they can. However, her social circle has been reduced to a few family members. She is the matriarch of the family and has helped so many family members emigrate to the United States and have opportunities to thrive and contribute to society. She deserves to be appreciated and acknowledged for her sacrifice, generosity and commitment to helping others. Chita is one of the most hospitable people you will ever meet and she loves to feed people when they visit. Food is love!

Ed and Cathy
A note from their daughter: Ed and Cathy have a sweet love story. They were in love many years ago. Ed is a Vietnam Vet and was injured pretty badly in the war. Now that he is older, those old injuries cause him a lot of pain. They went their separate ways and had separate lives and marriages, then found their way back to each other 30 years later. They were married in 2001 and love to travel together. They have been to almost all 50 states. Unfortunately, Ed has mobility issues and isn't able to travel anymore. Cathy is the ultimate care giver, not only for him, but in recent years a lot of their family members. Unfortunately, all other family has moved away from the area. They adore their 2 grandsons when they are able to see them, which isn't often enough. Now in their 70's and pretty isolated, they could use some positive energy and smiles, and Cathy in particular needs to feel appreciated and not forgotten. They are devout catholics and watch church service on tv when they aren't able to attend in-person mass.

Doris
A note from Doris’s friend: Doris just turned 90 years old! She is kind, strong, brave, & so special to so many! She has been living by herself since her loving husband of almost 51 years passed. We were co-workers at our local elementary school for 21 years. When she decided to give up driving in June of 2024, she needed to also give up working. She is an amazing Mom to 3 lovely daughters and takes pride in talking about her 4 wonderful grandchildren. She loves their monthly family game nights, usually a game of UNO. She often talks about how she misses the sentimental notes the students would give her. She would be so happy to receive some letters of love from around the world!
