Fulfill April letter requests
Read this month’s bios and choose which of our elder(s) you’d like to write. All letters should be stamped and mailed with love by April 30, 2026. New elders are shared on the 1st of every month!
Pro tip: These addresses will be taken down at the end of the month, so address your envelope before you start your letter.
We’ve shared these early! You can still read March letter requests if needed.
A thank you from Arlene on her 90th birthday: “It’s so refreshing to know that writing letters hasn’t gone away and that there are so many good people in this world. What a way to celebrate!” Read more
Sharon
A note from Sharon’s bonus daughter: Sharon loves watching true crime shows. She was born in Chicago but resides in Indiana. She was a strong woman in her youthful years that raised 5 kids on her own to the best of her ability. She has overcome significant obstacles to achieve goals in her life. Her family turned away from her at a young age. All of her close friends have passed away, as well as the love of her life. She does have children and always welcomes her children's friends in her home as if we were her own. As the years have passed on, she now stays in her room and is lonely. Please send her well wishes and sweet words of joy!

Mary S.
A note from Mary’s granddaughter: Mary “Mim” is known for calling her loved ones, sometimes numerous times a day, just to say, “Hi! How are ya?” She loves her black coffee, oatmeal, and toast, and thrives off of merriment, jokes, and good company. She loves the gym, she misses the days she could play tennis, and she has a keen enjoyment for the art of story-telling. Her cookies are renowned, and her company enviable. She is 86 years old and has recently had some heart issues. Although Mim never had kids of her own, she treated my siblings and I like her grandchildren and took care of us all throughout our childhood so my mom could get a degree and go back to work. Eventually we began to call her our fairy godmother. Mim is a lifelong Chicagoan who recently lost her husband, Denny, and now lives alone in an apartment building where she has gone out of her way to befriend everyone on every floor. With her health problems impeding on her social agenda right now, she could really use some letters of love to cheer her up!

Rochelle
A note from Rochelle’s granddaughter: Rochelle is 79 years old from Pennsylvania but has lived in New Iberia, Louisiana for the majority of her life. Ever since her husband passed away 4 years ago from Alzheimer's, she has lived alone and struggles with loneliness. She is a mother of 5, and loves her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids more than anything, and visits with them whenever she can! Her love of kids reaches beyond her family; she used to run her own at-home day care in the 1980s! Recently, she has struggled a lot with not only her physical health, but also mental health, including depression and loneliness. She loves butterflies, baking, writing and sewing! She is also Catholic and believes strongly in her faith. Overall, she would love to hear about your lives, to just know that she is not alone, and that there are lots of people who love and support her!

Joyce
A note from Joyce’s daughter: Joyce is single, disabled, and on the verge of losing her ability to walk on her own. She could really use something to brighten her day and her view on the world. Feeling lonely & shunned by family, she spends her time with her dog, Gizmo, along with her 2 cats. She also goes by "Bobbie" which is a nickname my Grandma had given her. She loves flowers and animals! She is very kind and giving, always trying to think of other people. She was born in New Mexico, lived in Lake Arrowhead, CA for a while, and now lives in KY. Her favorite color is yellow & she enjoys playing games, collecting coins & learning about them! She has had 10 back surgeries, starting when she was very young, due to severe scoliosis. I know that she would truly enjoy feeling loved by receiving a letter, especially with her poor health and inability to get out to meet others.

Annette
A note from Annette’s daughter: Annette is a widow. She used to enjoy painting landscapes, figurines and animals. She takes great pleasure in reading the Bible, attending online church and checking in on her three daughters, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She has roots in Salisbury, Maryland and has extended family in Willingboro and Burlington, New Jersey. Annette is such a beautiful person, and with her family dispersed around, they aren’t as close as they used to be, so letters of love would be incredibly helpful to lift her spirits!

She is struggling with loneliness and how to navigate this world as a widower. She is very strong in her faith in the Lord. She has worked for years in a funeral home ministering to others who’ve lost loved ones. She is always the family member that keeps us all informed and uplifted when we are struggling. Elena
A note from Elena’s daughter: Elena loves walks at the park and coffee. She is from Colombia, lives in Inwood, NY and her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in the last year. She has been going through a lot mentally and physically, adjusting to this new way of living and caring for a sick spouse. It has been very tough for her and all of us as a family. Sometimes she needs a reminder that it's okay to ask for help and not be the strong one all the time. She can cry and let it out when she needs to! She would love letters of love in either English or Spanish!

Gloria
A note from Gloria’s great granddaughter: Gloria is 99 and will be 100 in August! She is passionate about the environment and loves learning about mindfulness, hypnotism, and the Dalai Lama. Gloria grew up in the Bronx and lived in San Diego for close to 49 years. During COVID she moved to an assisted living facility in New Jersey to be closer to our family. The combination of the move and her friend passing away shortly after has left her lonely and bored. Letters would definitely brighten her day a ton!

Laura
A note from Laura’s daughter: Laura is from Largo, FL and she is currently living in an assisted living facility and a bit lonely. My family and I try our best to be up there on different days so she can have visitors. Before she went into assisted living, she was full of life and always wanting to go out. She loves to shop and just be around people and have a great time. She also loved to cook and sit outside on the porch with her dog. Unfortunately, her health took a major left, and she can no longer do anything for herself anymore. Please send her letters of love to help her feel less lonely during this time.

Mary O.
A note from Mary O’s granddaughter: Mary recently celebrated 90 wonderful years. After many happy years in Florida with her late, beloved husband, she’s now back in Long Island to be closer to family. The loss of her husband has been deeply felt. Since then her health has begun to decline. Proud of her Irish heritage and devoted to her family, Mary brings warmth and wisdom to everyone around her. It breaks all of our hearts seeing her so lonely and not in her usual high spirits. She has had a rough few months and could use all the love from around the world!

John
A note from John’s granddaughter: John is 91 years old and lives in Springfield, Ohio. He lost his wife about 2 years ago and just recently lost his favorite dog, Castle, who was a white lab/husky mix. Castle was 14 years old and meant everything to John; he cries almost daily and swears he can hear Castle barking in the middle of the night. John does not have any mental or physical deficiencies. He lives alone, loves hot weather, gardening, cooking simple meals, and wood working. He also loves Young & The Restless soap opera, The Price is Right, Jeopardy, and crime shows on NBC. John retired from the Air Force after 20+ years of service and also retired from the Civil Service. He could really use some kind and fun notes and letters of love to help him feel better each day!

Sheila
A note from Sheila's granddaughter: Sheila, or Mima, was born in Ogdensburg, NY in 1943. She met her husband, Bob, in high school, and they just recently celebrated 60 years of marriage! They created a loving family and lived throughout Upstate and Central NY for most of their lives, then relocated to Richmond, VA to be near family and have lived there for over 25 years. Sheila was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a couple years ago and recently moved into a moderate memory care facility without Bob. She has been struggling recently to make sense of why she is there and we have found that it brings her tremendous waves of boredom. Before she was diagnosed, Sheila was an avid reader (and still is!), loved to bake, enjoyed gardening, and frequently volunteered at her local church. I believe these letters would be a huge boost to her spirit and morale, as well as bring a bit of that light back to her day.
