Grandma’s Letter Exchange

By Jacob Cramer & Illustrated by Angelika Scudamore

Hardcover ($18.99); Paperback ($10.99); E-book ($2.99)

From the founder of Love For Our Elders, Grandma’s Letter Exchange is a love-laced picture book about letter writing, perfect to read with grandparents or while learning to write.

Jake thinks his grandma's habit of writing handwritten letters is boring. But when he discovers who she's been writing and the special penpal friendship they share, he'll learn to write letters, too. This picture book shares a love for grandparents and the art of letter writing with young readers. The book teaches how to write a friendly letter, a perfect resource for at-home or classroom learning.

“And when I’m not sure which words to say, I’m glad that grandma is never far away.”

A conversation starter for service learning

After reading Grandma’s Letter Exchange is the perfect time to teach a child at home or in school how to write a letter and give back to elders who need to feel loved.

If a school purchases at least 3 copies (no copies needed for Title I schools), Jacob is happy to meet virtually for a half hour with the students.

Author’s note

“I’ve always wanted to do more to inspire our youngest letter-writers, the ones who scribble art on mom’s letters and sign their name in crayon in big block letters. When writing Grandma’s Letter Exchange, I wanted to show that a single letter might not change the whole world, but it can change someone's world. It teaches kids the power of the pen, how to address a letter, and what can go in a letter. There’s no book like this– that inspires kids to write through a grandparent, just as I was inspired to start this love letters journey.” - Jacob
