Let’s write letters!

Read this month’s bios and choose which of our elder(s) you’d like to write. All letters should be stamped and mailed with love by September 30, 2025. New elders are shared on the 1st of every month!

Pro tip: These addresses will be taken down at the end of the month, so address your envelope before you start your letter. The first six addresses are only being written to by Humana volunteers— so prioritize these!

Mary

A note from Mary’s sister: My sister is a widow and lives in a very small town in Northern Michigan. She has had MS for the last 40+ years, but is very independent. She loves to travel and usually gets out and about every day to have a meal with other elders in her community. She has multiple walkers that are all named (Flash, Lightning, Bruce) as she considers them part of the family. She is an avid card writer herself and shares cards with members of her church or family, though her handwriting is terrible due to her MS. She would love to get letters to know others may be thinking of her.

Frani

A note from Frani’s granddaughter: My nana is 82 years old and was married to my papa for 50 years but just recently has passed away. Nana was his caretaker for a long time and has had little time to pursue her hobbies or passions. She loves visits from her grandchildren, looking through old family albums with pictures of vacations to Maine, making seven seafood dishes for Christmas Eve dinner, and sitting and watching the boats go by at the canal in our town. She is very proud of our Italian heritage, and you will always hear Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin playing throughout the house. She did so much to take care of my papa, and now that he is gone, she could really use some cheering up and I want her to know how appreciated she is.
